Actually the top left portion is the Union Jack. The remainder is the Southern Cross consisting of five stars plus the federation star having seven points - one for each state in Australia and one for the territories. Placed together as shown on this delightful bum, they form the Australian flag

That is not the Union Jack (British Flag). It's the Australian Flag, hence the large Southern Cross constellation on it.

very disappointing. the fact that you only recognise the union jack and not the australia flag typifys the arrogance of the majority of americans.
